Abstract
Laskar Pelangi tetralogy is a series of four novels that reveal the journey of Ikal to fulfill his dreams. The purpose of this research is to explore the psychological dynamics of Ikal during his journey. A close reading method is used to collect the data, followed by analysis based on the research question using psycho-cybernetics theory as a framework. Ikal’s psychological dynamics centered in self-image, goal setting, and the effort toward the goal. Ikal had three positive self images, that had big impacts on the whole process of his goal-fulfilling process. In the goal setting he had two main goals, that could be divided into private and social dimension. The effort to fulfill the goal relies on the mosaic pieces philosophy. The relation among these three parts centered in two things: the importance of self-image and the power of inspiration absorbed by Ikal from the people around him.
