Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of training in guidance on young children’s behavior on the understanding and behavior of caregivers towards children. The subjects are 30 caregivers con- sisting of preschool teachers, kindergarten teachers, early childhood educators, and day care center staffs in Surabaya. The subjects attended 12 training sessions 3 hours each. The result shows that there was a significant effect of the training on the understanding and behavior of caregivers towards children. The in- crease of caregivers’ understanding and behavior was due to the topics of the training which is relevant to the needs of caregivers, various delivery methods, and the active involvement of participants in the training.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pengaruh pelatihan pembimbingan anak usia dini terhadap pemahaman dan perilaku pengasuh terhadap anak. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 orang pengasuh anak, terdiri dari guru Kelompok Bermain dan Taman Kanak-Kanak, pekerja PAUD, serta pengasuh TPA di Surabaya. Mereka mengikuti 12 kali sesi pelatihan pembimbingan anak usia dini @ 3 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh pelatihan pembimbingan anak usia dini yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman dan perilaku pengasuh pada anak Meningkatnya pemaha- man dan perilaku pengasuh terhadap anak disebabkan topik-topik bahasan dalam pelatihan relevan dengan kebutuhan pengasuh, metode penyampaiannya bervariasi dan melibatkan peserta secara aktif.
