PENGETAHUAN DAN PERILAKU KARYAWAN NON EDUKATIF UNIVERSITAS SURABAYA TERKAIT UPAYA PENCEGAHAN HIV/AIDS
Abstract
HIV/AIDS merupakan penyakit mematikan yang hingga saat ini belum ada obatnya dan belum bisa dicegah dengan vaksin.Penularan dapat terjadi melalui hubungan intim,transfusi darah, jarum suntik yang terkontaminasi, antara ibu dan bayi selama kehamilan, bersalin, atau menyusui, serta bentuk kontak langsung lainnya dengan cairan-cairan didalam tubuh.Diperlukan pengetahuan masyarakat yang cukup terkait pencegahan HIV/AIDS sehingga masyarakat dapat mengaplikasikannya dalam bentuk perilaku pencegahan yang baik pula.Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengetahuan dan perilaku karyawannon edukatif Universitas Surabaya terkait upaya pencegahan HIV/AIDS dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan, perilakupencegahan, dan juga untuk melihat perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan dan perilaku pencegahan antar jenis kelamin dan tingkat pendidikan pada karyawan non edukatif Universitas Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode cross sectional daninstrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuisioner yang terbagiatas4 aspek, yaitu pengetahuan tentang HIV/AIDS, penularan HIV/AIDS, pencegahan HIV/AIDS dan perilaku terkaitupaya pencegahannya. Secara deskriptif, diperoleh bahwa tingkat pengetahuan dalam ketiga aspek pengetahuanHIV/AIDS mayoritas karyawan memiliki tingkat pengetahuan cukup dan berada pada kategori perilaku baik. Hasil pengujian statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan metode One-Way Anova, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hanya pada pengetahuan tentang penularan HIV/AIDS pada karyawan dengan tingkat pendidikan S1terhadap S2.Dari uji analisis korelasi bivariat didapatkan pula hasil bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara ketiga aspek pengetahuan terhadap perilaku terkait upaya pencegahan HIV/AIDS.
HIV/AIDS is a deadly disease and there is currently no cure and it cannot be prevented by a vaccine. Transmission may occur through intercourse, blood transfusion, contaminated hypodermic needles, between mother and infant during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding, as well as other forms of direct contact with the fluids in the body. It urges the need of a fairly public knowledge related to the prevention of HIV/AIDS so that the people can apply it in the form of a good prevention behavior. Research on the knowledge and behavior of employees of non-educational at Universitas of Surabaya related to HIV/AIDS prevention efforts has done. The research’s aims are to find out the level of knowledge, behavioral prevention and the difference in the level of knowledge and behavior of prevention between gender and education level on the non-educational employees Surabaya University. Method of this research is cross sectional using a questionnaire as a research instrument which is divided into four aspects: knowledge about HIV/AIDS, the HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention of HIV/AIDS related behavior and the prevention efforts. Descriptively, the level of knowledge of majority non-educational employee of University of Surabaya about HIV/AIDS in all three aspects of the knowledge at intermediate level and are on good behavior category. There is a significant difference only on knowledge about the transmission of HIV/AIDS on employees with education level Bachelor to Master using One-way Anova test. In general, there is no relationship between the three aspects of the knowledge related to HIV/AIDS prevention behavior among non educational employees at University of Surabaya.
