HUBUNGAN ANTARA BIG FIVE PERSONALITY DENGAN PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING
Abstract
Tahun awal perkuliahan merupakan salah satu masa transisi penting dalam kehidupan individu, sehingga aspek kesejahteraan psikologis yang optimal menjadi acuan untuk menghadapi masa transisi tersebut. Proses optimalisasi kesejahteraan psikologis pada masing-masing individu beragam dan dapat dijelaskan oleh faktor traits. Berangkat dari pernyataan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan membuktikan hubungan antara big five personality dengan PWB secara empiris dan mengantisipasi situasi yang menurunkan tingkat PWB. Sebanyak 225 mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Surabaya angkatan 2013 menjadi subjek penelitian berdasarkan teknik accidental sampling. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa setiap dimensi big five personality berkorelasi dengan dimensi PWB, diurutkan dari koefisien korelasi tertinggi: (1) conscientiousness (r=0.549 dan p<0.01), (2) extraversion (r=0.495 dan p<0.01), (3) neuroticism (r=-0.469 dan p<0.01), (4) openness (r=0.416 dan p<0.01), dan (5) agreeableness (r=0.326 dan p< 0.01).
