PENGARUH GRATITUDE THERAPY TERHADAP SUBJECTIVE WELL BEING PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELLITUS TIPE II
Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Gratitude Therapy dalam meningkatkan Subjective Well-being pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimental dengan menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest. Partisipan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari dua subjek yaitu pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2 yang memiliki tingkat subjective well being yang tergolong rendah. Subjective well-being diukur dengan menggunakan angket subjective well being oleh Hartanti (2011) yang kemudian oleh peneliti dilakukan modifikasi instrumen dengan menyesuaikan pada karakteristik partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah diberikan intervensi Gratitude Therapy, partisipan mengalami peningkatan subjective well being dari kategori rendah menjadi sedang. Hal ini disebabkan partisipan mampu mengubah fokus pikiran dan emosi yang sebelumnya negatif menjadi hal-hal positif dalam hidupnya sehingga partisipan dapat mengambil nilai positif atau hikmah dari peristiwa yang terjadi dalam hidupnya.

Abstract : The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Gratitude Therapy in improving the Subjective Well-being in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. The research method used is quasi experimental by using one group pretestposttest. Participants in this study consisted of two patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 who have a low subjective well being. Subjective well-being was measured using subjective well being questionnaire by Hartanti (2011), which was then modified instruments by the researcher by adjusting to the characteristics of the participants. The results showed that after being given of the gratitude therapy intervention, participants experienced an increase in subjective well being from low to moderate categories. This caused by the changing of the focus of participants’s thoughts and emotions of previously negative into the positive thoughts and emotions, so that participants can take the positive value or wisdom of every events that occur in their life.
