JIKA “TIDAK” KATAKAN, JIKA “YA” LAKUKAN! HUBUNGAN ASERTIVITAS DAN PROKRASTINASI MAHASISWA FAKULTAS PSIKOLOGI UBAYA
Abstract
Prokrastinasi merupakan penundaan yang dilakukan secara sengaja, dan berulang, dengan alasan yang tidak rasional. Hal ini karena penundaan dilakukan walaupun mengetahui adanya dampak negatif atas akibat penunda-nundaannya. Studi tentang prokrastinasi mendapati 90% mahasiswa telah menjadi seorang prokrastinator (Klassen, Krawchuk, & Rajani, 2008). Beberapa hal yang mempengaruhi prokrastinasi, salah satunya adalah asertivitas. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengorelasikan asertivitas dan prokrastinasi pada mahasiswa yang sedang mengambil matakuliah Pemyusunan Alat Ukur (PAU) (N= 131), mengingat seringnya prokrastinasi yang terjadi di lingkup akademik (Liu,2010). Peneliti juga mengaji dua variabel dengan alat ukur bantu Temporal Motivation Theory oleh Steel (2007). Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS 13.0 for Windows. Skala asertivitas menggunakan Rathus Asertiveness Schedule (Rathus,1973) , dan Pure Procrastination Scale (Steel,2007). Studi ini mendapatkan hasil korelasi sebesar -0.372, (p=0.000).
