HUBUNGAN ANTARA BIG FIVE PERSONALITY, SIKAP DAN ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTION (BERWIRAUSAHA) DI KALANGAN MAHASISWA

Abstract

Entrepreneurship atau kewirausahaan dapat dijadikan sebagai tolok ukur dalam mengukur kesehatan ekonomi yang dibangun oleh suatu masyarakat. Jumlah entrepreneur di Indonesia masih sedikit, dengan jumlah 1.58% dari jumlah populasi yang ada. Jumlah ideal entrepreneur yang harus dimiliki oleh suatu negara adalah 4% dari total populasi. Suatu perilaku berwirausaha dapat diprediksi dari intensi orang itu sendiri. Untuk mengetahui bagaimana intensi dalam bewirausaha itu muncul, dapat dijelaskan melalui theory planned behavior di mana intensi dipengaruhi oleh 3 faktor utama: attitude towards behavior, subjective norm, dan perceived behavioral control. Selain dari ketiga faktor tersebut, berdasarkan theory reason action, personality yaitu variabel eksternal turut juga mempengaruhi intensi seseorang. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, peneliti ingin mengetahui hubungan antara personality, sikap dan entrepreneurial intention pada mahasiswa. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Universitas Surabaya dan Universitas Ciputra dengan rentang usia 18-24 tahun. Metode penelitian menggunakan angket tertutup BFI (Big Five Inventory), EIQ (Entrepreneurial Intention Questionnaries) dan Core Entrepreneurial Intention Model Elements ditambah dengan angket terbuka buatan peneliti. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian adalah statistik nonparametrik, spearman corelation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara attitudes dengan entrepreneurial intention, terdapat hubungan antara personality (agreeableness dan conscientiousness) dengan entrepreneurial intention dan tidak adanya hubungan antara personality dengan attitudes. Kesimpulan yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa personality (agreeableness dan conscientiousness) berhubungan langsung dengan entrepreneurial intention tanpa melewati attitudes.
