Abstract

Abstract - In this study have developed a test apparatus of antidepressants activity called Black and White Box. This apparatus consist of a white compartement with a size of 30 x 30 x 30 cm, 12 watt LED and black compartement with size of 20 x 30 x 30 cm, 10 watt LED. LED lights as inducer of anxiety in Mus musculus which are photophobia. To test the effectiveness of the apparatus, this study used imipramin HCl which proven as antidepressants drug. Thirty of Males Mus musculus are used in this experiment, then they were divide into six groups where each group received a diffirent intervention, control group receive 0,5 ml of aqua, the comparison group received suspense of imipramin HCl 20 mg/kg, then the test group 1 (torvum Sw. 500 mg/kg), group 2 (Solanum torvum Sw. 1,5 g/kg), group 3 (Solanum nigrum L. 500 mg/kg), dan group 4 (Solanum nigrum L. 1,5 g/kg). This study done in the evening at 4.00-7.00 pm. The parameter observed in this study were long time mice in white compartement, latency time and number of moves. From the data analyzed obtained a significant result between control group with comparison group which show that apparatus proved its effectiveness in testing their antidepressant activity and analyzed obtained a significant result between control group with group 3 and group 4 which show that they have antidepressants activity than group 1 and group 2.
