Author Guidelines

 

Manuscript Submission

Authors are suggested to submit their manuscript through the online submission system at ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s official website at:

https://journal.ubaya.ac.id/index.php/jpa.

First time Authors must register themselves (by registering and creating an account) as an Author on the website and progress through the submission process.

Correspondence regarding the submission process is available through ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s official e-mail address at:

anima@unit.ubaya.ac.id and animaubaya@gmail.com.

If Authors encounter difficulties in submitting their manuscript through the official website, Authors can submit their articles by sending an e-mail with the manuscript file attached to both official e-mail addresses.

Authors are to provide a cover letter during the initial manuscript submission. At some point, our Editors may require statement of originality and author contribution statement to be provided.

 

Author Approval

Authors whose manuscript is published are expected to approve of:

(1) The publication rights of all journal material published in ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal are held by ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal and the Authors.

(2) The formal legal provisions for access to digital articles of the electronic version of ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal are subject to the terms of the “license”, meaning ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal reserves the right to store, modify, administer, maintain, and publish manuscripts without requesting permission from the Authors.

(3) Printed and/or electronically published manuscripts are open-access for educational, research, and library researches. In addition to these objectives, the Editorial Board will not be liable for violations of copyright law.

 

Privacy Statement

The names, e-mail addresses, and other Author related information entered into ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s website will only be used for ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s purposes and will not be used for any other purpose.

 

Peer Evaluation Process

All manuscripts will be subject to a double-blind peer-review process by ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s Editors and Reviewers which consist of academics and specialist professionals.

 

Open Access Policy

ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal provides open-access to its content, based on the principle of furthering global knowledge exchange, by assuming the principles and policy of the Open Access Movement.

 

Manuscript Translation

ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal (ANIMA) publishes articles in English and Bahasa Indonesia to improve the readership and citation outreach. Authors are required to submit their manuscripts in English OR Bahasa Indonesia according to their own choices. At the end of the copy-editing process, ANIMA’s working partners will translate the finished manuscript for the bi-lingual publication. Details on the translation fee are outlined further in the “Author Fee” section.

 

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal prepares manuscripts for publication loosely based on the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Journal (APA; 7th Edition).

However, Authors are only obliged to follow the minimum requirements as explained in ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s Author Guidelines and Layout Template.

This means Authors are only required to prepare their manuscript in single column form (as shown in the ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal Layout Template) while also paying attention to the clarity of the Headings in their manuscript.

Requirements for Manuscript Submission

The submitted manuscript is original and has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal.

The submitted manuscript is in MicroSoft Word format and uploaded as a .DOC or .DOCX file.

Authors may choose to prepare the manuscript in English or Bahasa Indonesia. Bi-lingual translation will be arranged after the copy editing process.

The submitted manuscript should follow ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s Manuscript Structure, provided in ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s Author Guidelines and Layout Template.

Authors are not obliged to prepare their full manuscript according to ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s Layout Template, but the Headings of the Manuscript must follow the format provided by the ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s Layout Template.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts submitted to ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal must follow the Manuscript Structure provided in ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s Author Guidelines.

A submitted manuscript generally consists of crucial sections as listed and briefly explained in ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal’s Author Guidelines - Manuscript Structure.

Contents of each part should follow the reporting standards based on American Psychological Association’s Journal Article Reporting Standards (JARS) for both quantitative and qualitative scientific researches and Meta-Analysis Reporting Standards (MARS) for meta-analysis researches.

 

Title

Titles must be kept concise and informative of the research’s subject matter, topic, and/or variables.

 

Author(s) Name(s) and E-Mail Address(es)

Provide the full name of each author (first, middle, and last name) without any titles.

Authors are suggested to provide the full names without any initials.

Pick one Author as the Corresponding Author but provide the working and active e-mail addresses of all Authors.

 

Affiliation

Provide each Author’s affiliation, at the minimum consisting of the institution and the faculty or department name.

Provide the full address (street and district, town or city, postal code, province or area, and country) of the institution of the Corresponding Author.

For Authors originating from foreign (outside of Indonesia) institutions, a full address of the institution should also be provided.

 

Abstract

Provide the Abstract for the article.

It is recommended to provide both the Bahasa Indonesia and English Abstracts.

Each abstract is written in a single paragraph with a maximum of 250 words.

Briefly describe the background and objective of the research, results, conclusion, and implication of the research.

 

Keywords

Provide a minimum of 3 (three) Keywords.

 

Introduction

Briefly provide information on the background, literature review, state of the originality of the work, research question and/or hypotheses, and objective of the research.

 

Methods

Provide the methods and materials and used for the research, these commonly include the data collection method, participants (population and sample), instruments used, and data analysis method.

Ensure that sufficient information has been provided for repetition of the research.

Refer to the American Psychological Journal (APA)’s scientific article reporting standards for more detailed information.

 

Results

Present the outcome of the study which should be able to answer the research question and/or hypotheses.

 

Discussion

Provide the interpretation of the study findings in the context of previous research.

This section is not a repetition of Result.

 

Limitation (and Suggestion)

Provide the limitations of the study and, whenever possible, also suggestions for future research.

 

Conclusion

Present the main conclusion(s) of the study.

This section may also highlight the implication of the findings.

 

Acknowledgements

Acknowledge those who have contributed to the research (funding organizations, research assistant, individuals or institutions that helped in gaining access for data collection and/or analysis, etc.).

 

Conflict of Interest or Funding

Declare any potentially competing interest (financial, professional, or personal relationships relevant to the study).

Sources of funding of the study may also be provided in this section under the Heading of Funding instead of Conflict of Interest.

 

References

Provide references listed in alphabetical order and prepared in American Psychological Journal Referencing Style (7th Edition).

References used in the manuscript must consist of 75% up-to-date scientific journal articles from the last 10 years.

All listed References must be cited in text and each text citation must be listed in the References.

DOI for each Reference must be provided if available.

Authors are not obliged but are suggested to use Reference Manager Programs such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, etc..

 

Author Contribution

Provide a list of each Author’ contribution to the research and manuscript.

Authors with Financial Concerns

ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal aims to support Authors in publishing their Manuscript at ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal. As such, ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal does not wish for financial concerns to hinder Authors' decision in publishing at ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal.

Therefore, ANIMA Indonesian Psychological Journal grants waivers and discounts for Authors with financial concerns, provided that Authors can provide the necessary genuine information as a base for decision by the Editorial Board.

Authors should include supporting evidence as for why a waiver or discount would be required. These include details of the affliation of Authors, details of the research conducted and the relation to the required waiver or discount, and details of confirmation regarding research grant or funding received, if any.
